Levels and limits
Every account has a level. A level decides how many servers you can run, how much CPU, memory and disk they may use together, and which families are open to you.
Why levels exist
They keep abuse small. Someone who signs up with a stolen card cannot start a rack of large servers in the first hour. For a real customer the limits lift quickly.
How you reach the next level
Your level follows the total you have topped up over time. It never goes down, also not when you take a top-up back. Once you have a server, the Servers screen shows your level and how many servers it allows, for example "Level 0: 1 of 3 in use". A family above your level is marked Higher level in the order; choose a plan in it and continue, and the next step asks you to top up to raise your level. Next to each plan above your level, the order also shows how much in top-ups opens it; once you are signed in, that is what is still missing for your account.
Outgoing mail on port 25
On level 0, outgoing mail on port 25 is closed on your servers: a server cannot hand mail to other mail servers directly. From level 1 it is open, also on the servers you already run. Need it on level 0? Open a ticket from Support and tell us what the server sends. The Network tab of a server shows whether it is open.
Need more than the highest level?
Open a ticket from Support and tell us what you want to run.
